A few days ago, Smriti Khanna woke up to calls from friends and relatives inquiring about trouble in her marriage to Tarun Khanna. At first, taken aback, she soon realised that the confusion was due to misinformation on the internet. The actress learnt that her name had been changed to Smriti Mohan online, and her relationship status as Tarun Khanna’s ex-wife, leading to confusion. She says, “My friend Nausheen Ali Sardar called me to tell me about the online alteration. I was taken aback and informed Tarun about it. However, we laughed it off because it seemed irrelevant.”
However, the situation escalated when their followers began sending them messages regarding their marital status. She says, “Initially, we didn’t pay much heed, but the situation started getting out of hand when our fans inundated us with messages and screenshots of the error. They started requesting to remarry Tarun, as they love us as Lord Shiva and Devi Parvati. We have been busy clarifying to everyone that Tarun and I haven’t parted ways and are very much together. We have no clue whom to approach to rectify this mistake. I am not Tarun Khanna’s wife and not his ex-wife.”
Tarun shares, “I was quite upset after I was notified by people on my social media accounts about this mistake. Only I know the difficulties I have faced to have Smriti in my life and lead a normal life with her. We work together to keep it as happy and fulfilling as possible. It’s quite annoying when statuses are altered without proper validation. It’s unethical and unprofessional.”
