She’s taken some time off playing the mother in Balika Vadhu because she is going to be a mother in real life soon – a second time round. In her hometown, Jaipur, to spend time with her family, the Smita Bansal is in a happy space. “I am on a break for sometime now so I am not shooting and just spending time with my family,” says Smita. Besides
Balika Vadhu, the actor doesn’t have any other serials in her kitty right now, but she remains unfazed.
Smita says, “I am happy with the role that I am currently essaying on screen and until and unless a script interests me, I am not going to take up another project.” Strange as it might sound, the lady says that she consciously stays away from movies. She explains, “There is a strong chance of getting lost in movies and a movie is very demanding. Plus, if you have those blink-and-miss sorts of roles, there is absolutely no meaning in doing them.”
She did one reality show, but Smita is scared of going in for reality shows in future. “I get stressed with competition and the audiences want actors whose life is controversial,
par meri life
mein aisa kuch nahi hain and I am happy with daily soaps,” laughs Smita.
But whenever she thinks of her college years, Smita gets upset. That’e because she was 17-something when she started working, and got so busy that she didn’t get time to attend college. “During school, I used to ride a Kinetic in Jaipur and chill with friends in the evening and after completing my schooling from Jaipur, I shifted to Mumbai for work and therefore, I missed on the college fun. Whenever I see movies based on college life, I get sad,” says the actor.
But talk about pregnancy and she looks all dreamy. “I am eight months pregnant and it is a beautiful feeling. I have taken a break from work and post delivery, I will take few months off before resuming work,” she says. But won’t the storyline of
Balika Vadhu miss her? “Shoot
kiya hain kuch kuch phele, and if need be, if an emergency crops up, I will go and shoot,” she signs off.
