Smart Jodi: Arjun Bijlani recalls how he met and proposed to wife Neha Swami, says ‘I am not the perfect man but she completes me’

Seen in several TV shows, reality shows and also as a host, Ajrun Bijlani for the first time is seen with wife Neha Swami on TV. The couple participated in game show ‘Smart Jodi’ and made many interesting revelations about their love story. Married to Neha for 9 years now, they have known each other for 18-19 years. They also have a 7-year-old boy Ayaan, who introduced the couple on the reality show. Arjun and Neha recalled how they met, the struggles they have been through, and all about their strong bond. After a romantic dance act, Arjun was all praises for his wife. On being asked about her TV debut, she said, “I am feeling great. I would see Arjun giving such performances with other actress and I would often tell him, ‘Mere saath bhi kabhi hero jaise aao.’ So finally, I performed with him. I enjoyed.”

Arjun reveals, “It was 18-19 years back. Those were the struggling days. I didn’t even sign my first show. I went to a 5-star place in Juhu with my friends – did some jugaad for the entry. She came from Lucknow. Some common friend invited her. She was sitting, and I noticed her below knee-length hair. She had poker straight hair. Sometimes from the backside you are able to tell that the person can be pretty. I walked in front of her slowly and I was like, ‘Ladki toh badi pyaari hai.’ That’s how we met and began talking.”

Arjun said, “I kept meeting her through our common friends. Then, on our fourth meeting, I told her, ‘You might think main koi aisa waisa ladka hu. But kya tum mujhse shaadi karogi?’” Neha adds, “Not even in fourth meeting. It was on the fourth date. He called me and said he wants to marry me and proposed to me to be his girlfriend.” Arjun says, “It would have been my biggest mistake, had I not done that. I am so so so happy. I have the most beautiful wife in my life.”

Be it my success or whoever I am today, it is only because I have her in my life. It wouldn’t have been possible without her. Neha gets emotional and Arjun says, “Yeh roti bahut hai.”

When host Maniesh Paul asks if Arjun is this romantic as he is on stage, Neha replies, “He is more romantic than this. For 2 and half years he had given me a rose every single day.” Arjun pulls out a rose from his pocket and goes down on his knees to give it to Neha.

When I met Arjun for the first time, I didn’t think he would be serious and we would do so many things together. He was childish, but I didn’t realise he is so mature behind this child like nature. I have never felt short of anything. Even in our early days…. While eating vada pav it would feel like eating at a 5-star.

There have been many times I made her angry. I am not the perfect man. I want to be, I try to be. Having said that, she is the perfect woman. We have fought a lot. But not once have I felt or thought that I need anybody else in my life. She completes me in all possible ways.

When Maniesh asks how they keep the romance alive, Arjun says, “We have been together for so long, we have grown together. If she wasn’t there, this romance wouldn’t have been there. In so many years, we have had many moments and memories together.”

In a video montage that Arjun prepared for Neha, he shows her maasi’s (actress Deepti Bhatnagar) house. Recalling those days, Arjun revealed, “I would climb this gate when there would be silence in the night and no one around. Luckily the gate at that time was small and Neha was with me.” Arjun revealed that Ganpati played a big role in their love story and Neha was a firm believer and would pray they get married. “Thank you for being the most amazing human being, the most amazing woman in my life, Love you,” said Arjun.
