Siddharth, who has played Krishna ('Krishna Kanhaiya') and Raja Bhoj ('Singhasan Battisi') earlier, admits that playing historical and mythological characters comes naturally to him. “I have a good hold over the

. It is important that shows like these are finite, it gives us some time to research on characters.”
The actor has been working in the industry for the past nine years and feels that it’s high time the industry evolves rather than goes back in time. He says, “Ninety percent of the success of the show lies on a good script. Historical shows can’t be fictionalised for ratings. Working in a regular TV show does not give actors much scope to enjoy the process, as scripts come to us at the last minute. The format of working in a TV show has to change. Also, actors who have been around for years still have to give auditions for a role. I would like to understand why the makers cannot choose an experienced actor as per the script and train him, especially when he has a body of work behind him.”
Siddharth confesses that there was a risk in entering 'Laado 2', after the show had already started. “I knew there was a risk because I was entering the show much later, but I enjoyed the experience of shooting for it.” He also adds, “I would love to do films and finite shows in the future. Even if it’s a show that goes on for a longer time, a definite script that sticks to the soul, gives us much more satisfaction and scope to grow as an actor.”
