Shweta Rohira: Theatre improves your acting skills

Read on...
Actress

Shweta Rohira

has carved a niche for herself as an artiste in theatre circles. She has been a part of plays like '

That's My Girl

' and '

Blind Date

', which have won her praise. Shweta says, "My plays continue to be staged at different places and I couldn't be happier. I feel blessed. A lot of the credit for this goes to the directors of these plays, who have chiselled my abilities to act. I must mention Bharat Dabholkar sir who I worked with in 'That's My Girl'. He has been an inspiration."

Shweta believes that acting on stage improves one's skills, one's ability to handle impromptu situations and yet, be very rehearsed with your performance. "Acting on stage is as good as a moment of life that will come back. Life has no retakes, and that's also the case with theatre performances. It's all in the moment," she adds.

After honing her skills on stage, the actress has set her eyes on

Bollywood

. Shweta says, "Hopefully in 2020, I will have news to share on that front. I love cinema too much to not be a part of it. I've always admired how certain actors become the characters they play; that's the space I want to get into."
