Actress
Shubhangi Atre, known for her work in shows like
Do Hanson Ka Jodaa,
Havan,
Chidiya Ghar and
Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain!, believes Valentine’s Day is not restricted to couples or romantic love.
“For a person like me who believes in love and loves to adore the people around me, every day feels like Valentine’s Day,” she says. For Shubhangi, love begins at home — with her parents, her daughter Ashi, and her close friends. “Love is not only about couples. It is about care, respect, and emotional support,” she adds, saying she feels grateful for the relationships in her life and never feels alone on February 14.

When asked whether the day feels like pressure or celebration, she shares, “For me, every day is Valentine’s Day with my loved ones. I don’t think we need a special date to celebrate love.” She admits that earlier she viewed it as a big occasion, but over time her perspective evolved. “Real love lives in everyday moments and small gestures.”
Though she often portrays romance on screen, Shubhangi draws a clear line between reel and real. “I am totally a hopeless romantic at heart,” she smiles. “But real love has ups and downs, misunderstandings, and growth.
Honesty, comfort, and emotional connection matter more than perfection.”
She also prioritises self-love. “Self-love and self-care are always my priority,” she says. This Valentine’s Day, she plans to keep it simple — spending time with loved ones and indulging in small acts of pampering.
On future relationships, she says emotional safety is essential. “I want someone who can protect my inner child and make me feel comfortable being myself. But that’s for the future. Right now, I am not looking for someone.”
