Mahashivratri: Naagin 6’s Shrey Mittal on playing Lord Shiva: There is an energy that comes to you when you don that costume

On the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, actor Shrey Mittal, who played Lord Shiva in Naagin 6, shares his experience of portraying the divine character and his personal connection with the festival.

Recalling a pivotal sequence from the show, which also starred former Bigg Boss winner Tejasswi Prakash, Shrey says, "During one of the sequences in Naagin 6, my partner and I took the form of Ardhanareshwar, where Shiv and Parvati come together. It was honestly a very different and divine experience. The moment you put on the costume, there's a weird energy that comes through you. It's not something you can feel, but there's a subtle energy that you sense."

Shrey admits that wearing the costume and makeup changed something inside him, giving him a sense of power and calmness. "You feel a sense of power, but in a very different way. It's hard to define, but it also calmed me down for that moment because of the energy change."

As Shrey celebrates Mahashivratri today, he shares his plans and personal beliefs. "I'm not very religious, but I do pray and believe in God. Today, in the evening, I'm going to go to the temple with my mother and just worship Shivji. For me, religion has always been more internal. I believe in God, and I know He's inside me, my parents, and the universe."

Shrey started his career with dating reality TV show Splitsvilla, and has been part of multiple shows such as Pisachini, Bekaboo, Indiawaali Maa and more.
