Shiwani Chakraborty, who is currently seen in Anupamaa, playing the role of Prem's (Shivam Khajuria) aunt, was earlier playing the role of Kaveri in Maati Se Bandhi Dor. The actress, who had a relatively smaller role in Maati opted for a new role in Anupamaa when the show took a leap.

Ask Shiwani if she quit Maati for Anupamaa and she said, "I did not quit Maati for Anupamaa. A few weeks ago, the makers decided to take a leap in Maati Se Bandhi Dor and I realised that I might not have a bigger role to play post the leap. At the same time, I got an opportunity to play Meeta Kothari, a rich woman in Anupamaa and I felt it was a good chance to move because Anupama is a popular show. That's why I thought to switch over."

Shiwani added, "They might have replaced my character in Maati, but overall the role does not have much scope now. The show is also likely to go off air soon. Therefore, I felt Anupamaa was a better opportunity and I am glad that I got this role at the right time. It is a nice role about a mother who follows the family traditions and is yet very obsessive about success and money."

Currently, in Anupamaa, the track is focussing on Prem and Rahi (Adrija Roy) wedding. Wedding festivities are on and the boy's family is keen that the groom's shoes are not stolen. On the other hand, Anupama (Rupali Ganguly) is very emotional that her daughter is getting married and she is wearing the same wedding dress that she wore for her wedding to Anuj (Gaurav Khanna). Rahi insists that her kanyadaan is performed by her mother Anupama and not by her grandparents.
