Teacher’s Day is a time to honor those who shape our lives with their guidance and wisdom. Actress Shivangi Verma, known for her roles in shows like Choti Sarrdaarni, Tera Ishq Mera Fitoor, and her recent appearance in Badass Ravi Kumar, shared her heartfelt thoughts on the true meaning of the day.
Speaking about its significance, Shivangi said, "For me, Teacher’s Day is not just about remembering our school teachers but about celebrating anyone who has taught us something meaningful in life. A teacher can be found in every stage of life—it can be a parent, a friend, or even a stranger who shows us a new way of thinking. This day reminds me to pause and thank all those people who shaped me, guided me, and helped me grow, both as an artist and as a human being."
When asked about her biggest mentor, Shivangi immediately credited her mother for playing a pivotal role in her journey. She recalled, "In my life, my biggest mentor has been my mother. She has always guided me with patience and honesty. I still remember once before an audition, I was very nervous and almost ready to give up. My mother sat with me and said, ‘Even if you fail, at least fail trying.’ That line stayed with me forever. Because of her, I have learned to face every challenge with courage and not run away from it. She is my teacher for life."
Shivangi further emphasized the importance of mentorship, saying, "I believe having a mentor or guide makes a big difference in one’s career. A mentor is like a mirror who helps you see your strengths and weaknesses clearly. But at the same time, I also feel life itself is a teacher—if you stay open, every mistake and every success can guide you. Whether it’s a person or an experience, what matters is that you learn, keep growing, and never stop being a student."
