Shilpa Shinde to Sunil Grover; Celebs who had a controversial exit from TV shows

Celebs gain popularity with their performances in their TV shows and not often but rarely do things take a bitter turn leading to their unanticipated exit from their shows too. Such exits not only shock and upset the fans but also brings about some controversies along with it. From Anushka Sen to Sunil Grover and a few other TV celebs have made such controversial exits from the roles and shows they were loved in. So here’s a look at such controversial exits of celebs….

Teen sensation Anushka Sen, who played the lead in Apna Time Bhi Aayega, was replaced by Megha Ray just after 18 episodes. While the actress claimed that she quit the show because of her health, the producers cited a different reason. The makers cited that it was Anushka’s unprofessionalism that led them to decide to replace their lead actress. The producer stated, “We could have tolerated her tantrums, as long as it wasn’t hampering the show. However, not turning up for the shoot amounted to unprofessionalism and we decided to bring in a new actress for the part finally.”

Sunil Grover portrayed multiple characters on The Kapil Sharma Show. There was a major fallout between Kapil and him, which was the reason behind him quitting the show. And later did it come out that the nasty verbal spat between the two comedians happened when they were returning from their Australia tour and Kapil had allegedly abused Sunil verbally, which led him to quit the show.

Shilpa Shinde essayed the lead role of Angoori Bhabi in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain until she quit the show because of her fallout with the makers. The actress had allegedly accused the makers of mental torture. Following which the makers had also sent her a legal notice for breach of contract. Reportedly, Shilpa had accused the producers of giving more preference to co-actress Saumya Tandon and also of not increasing her payment for the show. Later, she was replaced by Shubhangi Atre.

Ritvik Arora, who played Kunal in Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke, allegedly didn’t return for the shoot post-COVID-19 lockdown. While the actor claimed that he wasn’t able to resume shoot owing to the COVID situation, producer Rajan Shahi called him unprofessional and said that he asked for an hike in his fee.

Gia Manek, who played Gopi bahu in Saath Nibhana Saathiya, was replaced by Devoleena Bhattacharjee overnight. Surprisingly, it was her decision to participate in dance show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa on a rival channel that made the makers come to the decision to replace her.

Karan Singh Grover, who played the lead Asad in Qubool Hai, made an abrupt exit from the show. Though the actor claimed that it was his decision to quit the show, the makers cited his unprofessionalism and tantrums on the sets to be the reason behind his exit and replacement.

Sonarika Bhadoria, who essayed the role of Parvati in Devon Ke Dev Mahadev, was replaced by Mouni Roy. Reportedly, it was her tantrums and unprofessional attitude on the sets that led makers to take the decision of replacing her. Moreover, it was known that her demands on-set kept increasing.
