Shikha reveals her beauty secret

Shikha Swaroop, the original gorgeous Chandrakanta of Indian telly, is now appearing as a stunning queen in Kahani Chandrakanta Ki, directed by Sunil Agnihotri. The lissome lass, who was also seen in films like Police Public, Pyar Hua Chori Chori, Tahalka, Kayda Kanoon and Cheetah is gung-ho about her second regal avatar.
Ask her how’s she finding the transition from a princess to a queen and she says: “The role has got many shades and depth of a woman of substance.She is placed in another era, but her thoughts and actions are very modern. When Sunil had originally approached me, I was surprised, but I am so very happy to be a part of this project.
Does she think this new Chandrakanta saga will be able to elicit enough enthusiasm among the Gen-Next? “Today, youngsters have to face lots of cutthroat competition everywhere, and this struggle is also woven into the story of Chandrakanta, so they will connect with it. Human emotions, after all, are eternal.”
Her fans often wondered as to where she had vanished for the past 15 years. To this she says: “I did some television in-between and then took a break to do things that I had never done. I focussed on my hobbies... read Vedas, Ayurveda, classical books and books on good living & spirituality and stayed away from the glamour world. That was my time to feed my soul’s cravings.”
And what’s the secret of her everlasting beauty?
“Good living, living in the presence of God and being in control of what you eat and drink and regular exercise... have probably made me what I am,” says she and signs off.
