Remakes are the flavour of the season. Now TV actor-turned-producer Rohit Roy is set to direct the remake of Basu Chatterjee���s 1982 classic Shaukeen which starred Ashok Kumar, Utpal Dutt, AK Hangal and Rati Agnihotri. Bunty Behl will produce the remake of the film. If all goes well, Rohit plans to cast Rishi Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah and Boman Irani or Paresh Rawal in the three main roles that were played by the veteran actors in the original.
A source close to Bunty and Rohit says, ���It will not be a replica of the original film.
The three principal characters will be rich. The film will be shot in the US.���
Without disclosing the amount, Bunty Behl confirmed, ���Yes, I have bought the rights of Shaukeen.��� When we contacted Rohit, he confirmed and said, ���Yes, I will be directing the remake. The film is a classic and I am very kicked about holding the directorial reins of such a masterpiece. It is a challenging task.���
