Ashneer Grover, former Shark Tank India judge and entrepreneur, has opened up about his earnings beyond the business world, making a surprising revelation about his income as an influencer and TV personality. Speaking to IANS, he clarified that, contrary to popular belief, television is not his primary source of revenue.
Ashneer addressed the common perception that his fame from television has led to higher earnings than his earlier business ventures. Clearing the air, he said,
"If I am making more money doing TV, then people are mistaken. The money in business is many times more. I was fortunate to be part of two unicorns, one of which I co-founded — BharatPe. The amount of money in that is much, much bigger than there is in TV."
He further explained that while he approaches television work with the same dedication as his entrepreneurial ventures, the financial scale is incomparable.
"Having said that, I don't take TV any less seriously. I do it with the same level of passion I would have done any other business. But money — there is no comparison. There is more money in business," he emphasized.
When asked about how he personally measures success — whether through fame, money, or a mix of both — Ashneer admitted that for him, money has always been the ultimate benchmark.
"For me, I am a number-driven guy. So, it's always about money. The one who has more money is more successful. The rest come up with good things to satisfy their hearts. But you can only measure money. Everything else is intangible. So, anyone who has more money is more successful. As simple as that," he asserted.
Ashneer also reflected on his unique journey, having been involved in two unicorns in a country with only 110 such companies.
"Now I have been fortunate enough to be part of two unicorns. What is the probability that one person gets involved in two? It's a very low probability event. It has already played out in my life. Two very big companies have been created. Now, if you have expectations from me, you can think about a third or fourth — but what will the rest do?" he quipped.
He is currently hosting Rise and Fall and stars popular personalities from television, Bhojpuri cinema, Bollywood, sports and social media. Famous personalities like Pawan Singh, Arjun Bijlani, Kiku Sharda, Aahana Kumra, Kubra Sait, Aditya Narayan, Arbaz Patel, Sangeeta Phogat and others.
