Shark Tank India Season 4: Anupam Mittal reveals his aunts kept cousins away from him; Aman and Peyush joke 'Hamari moms aaj bhi kehti hai Anupam se durr raho'
The latest episode of Shark Tank India Season 4 showcased a special Campus edition, celebrating the talent and creativity of teen entrepreneurs. Among them was 16-year-old Meet Deore from Pune, a Class 12 student preparing for the JEE, who delivered an impressive pitch. Meet’s passion for motors began early, starting in Class 2 when he created an electric stirrer and later automated his home’s curtains to motorize their movement. His journey eventually led him to his dream project: building an electric go-kart. With a clear vision, Meet is committed to pursuing mechanical engineering while also focusing on creating cost-effective electric vehicles, balancing innovation with education.
Meet Deore appeared on Shark Tank India with his innovative venture, Demi Bikes—an electric motorcycle packed with unique features. The bike is 100% Made in India, affordable, and has a manufacturing cost of approximately Rs 40,000. Meet’s pitch sought ₹30 lakhs for 10% equity, valuing his business at Rs 3 crores. Before creating the electric bike, he started with an electric bicycle. When Anupam Mittal asked about the origin of the name "Demi Bikes," Meet explained that it combines the initials of his father’s surname, Deore, and his mother’s surname, Nikam. All the Sharks were impressed by his concept and responded with heartfelt praise.
Meet designed the frame of the motorcycle and took it to the fabricators. They welded it and the designing and placement of all the components were done by Meet. He designed it on paper. Hearing this Aman Gupta comments, "Kya kar raha hai yaar, 16 saal mein mujhe ye nahi pata tha mujhe Commerce lena hai yaa Science. All the watch videos of Meet designing his motorcycle. In one o the videos, they notice few other young kids and upon enquiry they learn that they are Meet's cousins. Anupam Mittal says, "Bhai sabko kaam par laga diya hai." Namita comments, "You are like a dream cousin for every mom." Anupam adds, "When I was around your age, my aunts wouldn't let my cousins play with me. It is completely different in your case." Peyush Bansal and Aman both joke, "Hamari moms aaj bhi kehti hai Anupam se durr reho." Everyone burst into laughter.
Meet reveals he was 10 year old when he built the Electric-Go-Kart, Aman says, "Logon ke daant nahi toote the, kya kar raha hai meet, sharam aarahi hai humein apne bachpan par." They watch him driving him the Go-Kart as a kid. Aman takes a test drive of the bike. Meet highlighted the lack of affordable, high-quality, Made-in-India bikes in the market. After taking a test drive, Aman pointed out a few issues with the motorcycle's performance.
Demi Bikes has the Top Speed of 50 Km per hour and it will need a registration. Meet shares E-Luna is the closest competitors. The 16-year-old mentions the uniqueness of his product. The motor is 48 Volts and 1 Kilo Watt, Chain Drive System which delivers more power and is more cost efficient for maintenance, it uses Lithium-Ion Battery which is safer and takes charging time of 3-4 hours. On one charge, it covers a range of 75 Km.
Vinita questioned Meet about balancing his studies and business, recalling her own experience of dedicating 8-10 hours a day to prepare for JEE. She asked how he planned to prioritize between pursuing his business and focusing on electronic engineering. Meet reveals he likes practical knowledge so this was his priority and he will try his best to get to into a good University but this is his first love.
Peyush asks if he gets funding from Shark Tank will he invest the money in building the Motorcycle or will he prepare for IIT, Engineering. Meet responds saying that he will manage both but Peyush interrupts saying it won't be easy because once he gets the funding of Rs 30 lakhs, the investors will start following up for the ROI of the same.
Meet reveals he would start R&D and improve the design of Demi Bike upon securing a deal and will compromise on college. Aman is the first one to back out and he says he won't give him money because he wants him to study. He praises Meet and adds that if he gives him money, he would get distracted. He asks Meet to put the product and plan on hold. Namita recites the dialogue from 3 Idiots "Kabil Bano Kamiyaabi Jhak Maar Ke Peeche Daudegi." She asks him to work on his capability and complete his education. She also promises him to introduce him to auto gurus from Pune. Anupam also guides him and calls him a star. Peyush and Vinita also praise him for his clarity and focus. They too ask him to focus on his studies.
