Shark Tank India: Aman Gupta opens up about sponsors becoming judges; says 'some of them pay to be a Shark'

Entrepreneur Aman Gupta, who has been a part of Shark Tank India since the beginning of the show. The show first aired in 2021 and Aman has so far invested in approximately 100 companies on the show. While the regular Sharks are still part of the show, season 5 has brought in several guest Sharks for short stints.

Aman was recently asked in an interview whether paying money can make someone a Shark on the show. In response to the question, Aman said he hasn’t paid any money to be on the show, but added that someone can become a Shark if they sponsor the show.

Speaking to Humans of Bombay, he said, “I hope Shark Tank India makers don’t scold me for saying this. I think you become a sponsor and there are some sponsors of Shark Tank India who come (on the show).”

He further said, “It’s been happening for the last few seasons but I don’t pay to be a shark but some of them become a sponsor and then come for a weekend.”

In the same interview, Aman was asked about his favourite Shark and he said, "I don’t like all of them.” When asked about his favourite sharks on the show, he said, “Namita is my favourite shark. She is outstanding. She is who she is and since season 1, we have had a wonderful bond and it’s been growing every year. We also do a lot of deals together.”

Shark Tank India Season 5 has Anupam Mittal, Namita Thapar, Vineeta Singh, Aman Gupta, Kunal Bahl, Viraj Bahl, Ritesh Agarwal, Amit Jain, Mohit Yadav, Kanika Tekriwal, Shaily Mehrotra, Hardik Kothiya, and Varun Alagh as their sharks.

The recent episodes of Shark Tank India has witnessed a few arguments between Anupam Mittal and Aman Gupta.
