Sharhaan Singh will be seen as Jaspal Singh Brar in Teri Meri Doriyaann, a Hindi remake of the Bengali show, Gaatchora. This is the first time the Punjabi munda will play a Sardar on TV. He shares, “It’s been 15 years in the television industry and this is the first time I playing a Sardar. I wear a turban for my character in the show. I am from Patiala (Punjab), so this character is very close to my heart also because of my look. The experience of shooting for the show takes me back to my hometown and roots.”

He has mostly played negative characters, while in this, he will be seen in a positive avatar. He says, “After a long time, I am playing a positive character. I don’t take into account the shade of the character I am offered. For me, my part should be pivotal to the show. However, playing a different shade once in a while is an exciting prospect.”

He also doesn’t wish to restrict himself to any age bracket when it comes to exploring opportunities. In this one, he will be seen as a father to a teenager. “I played a father at the age of 20 in Rakhi (2007), so, I have no qualms about playing one now. I don’t mind the age of the character. Why should an artiste feel restricted and limited? I should be able to pull off every character,” says the actor, who has been part of shows like Balika Vadhu 2, Yeh Teri Galiyan, Kasam Tere Pyar Ki, Kumkum Bhagya and Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap.
