Tell us about your character in the show...I play a typical Indian father,
Hanuman Singh Dinkar
, who is from Kanpur and has great expectations from his son
Kapildev
(
Vishal Malhotra), who has his own ambitions. Kapildev is a traffic cop in Mumbai. Hanuman is not very happy with his son’s profession, but tries to give him space to fulfil his dream.
What made you return to the small screen?I got a call from the producers six months ago. We discussed my role and the format of the show. They informed me that it will be a mini-series, which would not take too many days to shoot. So, I agreed.
How does it feel to shoot for the small screen vis-a-vis the big screen?Honestly, it does not make much of a difference. Actors have to entertain viewers, be it on TV or in movies. I am working in a TV serial after 20-25 years. I have realised that the show has great potential to click with audiences.
