Shalin Bhanot: When Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan haven’t quit TV, how can I?

Although he is more popular for his television shows, Shalin Bhanot explored the film world with Pyare Mohan (2006) and Love Ke Fundey (2016). Last year, he ventured into the OTT space with Inspector Avinash. While he aspires to be able to explore all mediums, Shalin has no intention of abandoning television. He says, “When Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan haven’t quit TV, how can I? It’s my first love.”

It's been eight years since his last appearance in Bollywood. What’s stopping him from trying his luck in films again? “I am not chasing offers, but I would definitely love to do a film. I am currently in discussion for a web film and will talk about it once everything is finalised,” replies the actor, who has been part of shows such as Grihasti, Do Hanson Ka Jodaa, Baat Hamari Pakki Hai, Sajda Tere Pyaar Mein, Suryaputra Karn, Ram Siya Ke Luv Kush, and Naagin 4, and was last seen in the supernatural thriller, Bekaboo.

Workwise, Shalin will soon be seen participating in the 14th season of Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi. Incidentally, he declined the stunt-based reality show last year when it was offered to him while he was inside the Bigg Boss 16 house. In a previous interview, while speaking about the reason for turning down the offer earlier, he said, “I was inside Bigg Boss 16, already part of a reality show, when I was offered another one. I didn’t want to take up two reality shows consecutively. I am primarily an actor, and the actor within me needed to return to acting. Even before my stint on BB ended, I was signed for Bekaboo, marking my return to fiction, which is my true love. Another reason to accept KKK this time is that a fiction show I was set to begin shooting for has been delayed. This offer came at the right time.”
