Shaleen Malhotra cast opposite Anjali Tatrari in Vanshaj

Shaleen Malhotra, who was last seen as Special Agent Major Karan Shergill in Ziddi Dil Maane Na, has been cast as the hero opposite Anjali Tatrari in Vanshaj. The actor was finalised recently and will soon commence shooting. Speaking about Shaleen’s character in Vanshaj, a source associated with the show informs us, “The ongoing storyline requires an ultra-positive character who will stand by Yuvika Mahajan (played by Anjali Tatrari). Shaleen’s character will be a businessman, who prioritises his work above everything else, but is also family-oriented and a man of ethics and values. He excels in the business world without being shrewd or scheming. It’s an extremely positive character. His character’s moral integrity is expected to add a compelling layer to the already intricate storyline.”

Shaleen has been part of shows such as Arjun, Encounter, O Gujariya: Badlein Chal Duniya, Code Red, Ishqbaaaz, and Laado -- Veerpur Ki Mardani. Vanshaj marks his return to the small screen two years after his last daily soap, Ziddi Dil Maane Na (it also featured Kaveri Priyam, Diljot Kaur Chhabra and Simple Kaul), wrapped up. The show will also see him reuniting with Anjali after Mere Dad Ki Dulhan.




Produced by Siddharth Kumar Tewary, Vanshaj also features veteran actor Puneet Issar, Mahir Pandhi of Choti Sarrdaarni fame, and Mohit Kumar. The family drama is a contemporary adaptation of the Mahabharata, focusing on two rival families vying for control of a business empire. The narrative delves into the intricacies of family relationships and conflicts of interest while exploring themes of succession and determining who is most deserving of carrying on the family legacy. The story challenges traditional gender roles by questioning whether the rightful heir should always be a son or if a daughter, who may be more capable and better equipped, should also be considered.
