Sehaj Rrajput remembers breaking down while shooting the domestic violence track for Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile

Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile featuring Bharat Ahlawwat (Raghav) and Aayushi Khurrana (Reet) recently grabbed the headlines with its domestic violence track featuring Sehaj Rrajput who essays the character of Unnati. Unnati’s journey is about her strength and fighting for justice as she stood up against her husband Vikrant (Puneet Raj) and made sure that he is punished even though she had to face domestic, emotional and physical abuse from him.Having fought her painful past, Unnati is now all set to give love a second chance by marrying Dhruv (Rohit Dhiman). Sehaj Rrajput shares how shooting such emotionally heavy scenes in the last few months has been a challenging rollercoaster ride for her and how if Unnati’s journey can inspire even one domestic violence survivor to feel stronger, she would consider her work has reached the right audience.Sehaj Rrajput shares, “Playing such intense and emotionally heavy scenes, has impacted me deeply as an actor and as a person. There was one moment in the shoot where I really fell apart, like I completely broke down, especially in those scenes where my character was feeling hopeless and trapped, even though hope was right in front of her. I was crying so much for these sequences that my eyes even got swollen and it was hard to come out of helplessness of the character emotionally. In fact, I was so immersed in the disturbing emotions of the story that I even felt distant from my co-actor Punnet at one point of time."The actress further adds, “At the same time, this journey made me more empathetic towards women who go through domestic violence and emotional abuse in real life. I want women to know that no matter how bad life gets, there is always hope, there is always strength inside to fight back. Women are so strong and sometimes it just takes time to realize that inner strength. I feel If my characters can inspire just one person to not give up on life and to continue believing in themselves, I will feel I have accomplished something meaningful as an actor.”As Unnati is now ready to start a new life with Dhruv, It would be interesting to watch if Vikrant will let them live happily or will come back again to create hurdles in their lives.
