Sayli Salunkhe cast to play the female lead in Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s next
Sayli Salunkhe, who previously played the lead in Baatein Kuchh Ankahee Si and was last seen in Pukaar – Dil Se Dil Tak, has bagged a new show. She has been cast as the female lead in Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s upcoming project. Interestingly, there’s a connection between her new show and Baatein Kuchh Ankahee Si – the theme of music. .
A source associated with the daily soap shares, “Music plays a pivotal role in the upcoming show. While in Baatein Kuchh Ankahee Si, Sayli’s character was portrayed as an aspiring singer, this time, her role revolves around supporting the male lead’s dream of becoming a singer. She will also be playing the mother of a young daughter in this show.”
Sayli was unavailable for comment on the development.
In an earlier interaction with us, the actress reflected on her experience with Pukaar – Dil Se Dil Tak, which ended within just four months. Sayli, who has also been part of Bohot Pyaar Karte Hai, had said, “I can’t quite grasp what’s happening with television these days. As actors, we can’t always choose which production house or channel we get to work with. I find myself torn between what factors to prioritise when selecting a show – shall I focus on the production house, the channel or the story? Unfortunately, the shows I have been part of have ended abruptly, leaving me without closure, and that feels unfair. Four months is too short – aisa lag raha hai na hum uss character se judd paaye aur na usse baahar nikal paaye. I had just started understanding my role, so it’s disheartening. This might be why many TV actors are turning to OTT platforms, hoping their work and characters get the recognition they deserve.”
She had added, “Of course, I don’t want people to think my shows end abruptly. However, I also want to stress that, as an actor, I have no control over these decisions. I hope people don’t judge my performance based on this. I always give my 100 per cent and beyond that, I try not to let it weigh on me. Even though my shows have shut down abruptly. I have kept working back-to-back.”
