Sayantani Ghosh praises Jagadhatri; says “Maya Deshmukh has made me stronger”
Jagadhatri continues to keep audiences hooked with its gripping twists. In recent episodes, Rudra (Ayushh Shrivastava) shoots Shivaay (Farman Haider) and Jagadhatri (Sonakshi Batra) knows it is him behind the attack. With the intent to seek justice, she attempts to uncover his identity; however, she is unable to do so owing to the absence of proof since Rudra ensures that all of his actions remain discreet. On the other hand, Maya (Sayantani Ghosh), unwilling to believe the claims, supports her brother wholeheartedly despite her profound affection for Jagadhatri and Shivaay.
Speaking about portraying such a layered and challenging character, Sayantani Ghosh shared, “Playing the role of Maya Deshmukh is probably the most challenging and fulfilling experience for me as an actress. The thing which I admire most in Maya is that not only does she appear very tough on the surface but there are so many feelings, complexities and hues in her personality that she seems to be so real. In the last few episodes especially, we have seen Maya going to any length to safeguard her family members, and this is something with which I can easily relate to. In a way, I am like Maya. I fight for my family no matter what. While I do relate to her strength, there are still qualities in Maya that I am learning from traits that I believe will make me an even stronger person, both personally and professionally. I genuinely admire Maya as a character, which is why portraying her has been such a rewarding journey. It’s challenging, yes, but it’s also the kind of role that teaches you so much along the way. Characters like Maya don’t come often they are rare and truly special. Also, being a part of Jagadhatri makes this journey even more exciting. The show is progressive and different in its storytelling, and that’s something that constantly inspires me and makes me fall in love with my work even more. ”
Looking ahead, viewers will soon see Jagadhatri trying to find proof against Rudra while also working to track down Musa. Now that Shivaay has informed the cops that Rudra didn’t shoot him, there seems to be a twist of events that makes life even harder for Jagadhatri. For the first time in her life, Shivaay is not on her side because he may be trying to help his brother. It will be interesting to watch how she manages herself in the coming days.
