Once again, Colors has teamed up with Ekta Kapoor for a new show titled “Parichay”. It is a story of a fallen hero who gets a second chance in life. The show marks the comeback of Samir Soni to fiction, post the hit show “Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi”. An elated Samir tells us, “I was busy doing movies and nothing exciting was coming my way, so I took a long break from television.
But when I was offered the role of Kunal Chopra, I fell in love with it. Ekta had offered me roles before as well, but things could not materialise. However, I couldn’t decline playing Kunal as it is a beautiful character, and I identify with it completely. He lives life on his own terms, like me. He is not politically correct and so, may come across as a rude person, but he has a heart of gold. He doesn’t believe in the herd mentality and makes his own path. I have lived my life the way I wanted to in real too.”
Producer Ekta Kapoor says, “I draw my inspiration from society, and the people I interact with. I meet a mix of people – heroes and fallen heroes – daily. What is important is to keep the hope of a better future alive, and that’s exactly what this show is all about.” Ashvini Yardi, head of programming, Colors, says, “It’s a story of a man who was once a very promising lawyer, and then ended up becoming the biggest failure in the eyes of his family and society. However, life presents him with a second chance to redeem himself.” Watch “Parichay” from Monday to Thursday at 9.30pm.
