Samir Soni: I am actually a very detached person

Samir Soni feels he’s a changed man since his daughter came into his life. Usually, Samir says, he keeps his emotions in check but with his daughter Ahana around, he has become more emotional.
In fact, his wife Neelam too says that she hasn’t seen her husband displaying emotions like this ever before. After two years of their marriage, Samir and Neelam adopted a baby girl some time back. “Ahana is the apple of the eye. She has made me mushy gushy which I never was. I am actually a very detached person, very offish. But when Ahana comes to me saying, ‘Papa’, I get really emotional and after some time I tell Neelam to take her away from me,” laughs Samir.

And 2015 will be extremely special for the film, television and theatre actor. He has started shooting his film which he is also directing. “The first schedule is happening on time, it is all perfect, it couldn’t have been better. It is big year of my life, 2015 is very lucky for me,” says Samir.

And what about New Year resolution? “I am very old fashioned on that front. I am following what my parents followed – Do your best, have no regrets, do nothing wrong,” says Samir, further adding, “But the resolution that I keep breaking is that I am not able to keep my weight in check. No matter what I do, I put on weight.”
