Samiksha says, “The director of the film, Prabal Baruah, knew that I sing as I have worked on the show '
Gupp Chupp
', which was directed by him. I used to sing a lot on the set then, so people around me were aware of my liking for all things musical. I shared with Prabal that I would like to do something in music in future. I am grateful that he remembered that and asked me to sing a romantic number.”
The actress comes from a music background. She has done her masters in classical music and is also pursuing her PhD in Kathak. “There was a time in my life when I was in a dilemma to choose between music and acting, which has been my passion. So, I opted for acting and learnt music simultaneously. Singing is of great help to an artiste, as we do a lot of voice modulations,” she says.
