Actor
Sameer Iqbal Patel, who has appeared in television shows such as 'Ehsaas', 'Mr. Aur Mrs. Verma Ki Rasoi' and 'Noor Jehan', says that the COVID-19 lockdown has proved that creativity has no boundaries.
Elaborating further, he says, “The pandemic has taught us all so many lessons. For me, a lot of learning came out of it. We tend to take most things (and people) for granted and the lockdown taught us to appreciate them.
I made some lockdown videos, which taught me that creativity has no boundaries. I think we all are coming out of this lockdown as better persons and professionals.”
Sameer, who was a model, and is now a director and writer, says he has managed to juggle all professions with élan. He adds, “I enjoyed my journey from a model to an actor and then a director and writer. Each profession has been equally beneficial because at each stage of my career, it helped me grow as a person. It has been an amazing journey and I still have a long way to go. Modelling and acting were just the beginning, but the fame that came along was big. One has to learn how to handle love and attention. Theatre gave me maximum learning because I handled everything from writing to production to direction and finally performing on stage. It was such a high. Filmmaking is a lot more demanding and requires so from you. The competition is big. But making a film is like giving birth to a child and it is beautiful.”
Sameer wrote for the television show 'Yeh Chanda Kanoon Hai' and later made his directorial debut with the Bollywood film 'Hotel Beautifool'.
