Sagar Parekh breaks industry norms; says No to easy fame and yes to challenging characters: 'Impact Over Popularity Always'
Sagar Parekh’s journey in the entertainment industry hasn’t really been about hype. He’s someone who has slowly built his space by just focusing on his work. Instead of sticking to one type of role, he has tried different kinds of characters over time, which clearly shows he enjoys the process of acting and likes to explore something new with each project.
Even though the industry moves quickly, Sagar believes in keeping things simple, effective, and grounded. Talking about what keeps him grounded, he shares, “Honestly, it has to be my routine and the people that are closest to me. I mean, no matter how unpredictable things get, I always come back to my basics, such as my work ethic, my fitness and a small circle that you know keeps me real. I think that balance reminds me of who I am beyond all the noise.” It’s a straightforward approach, but one that clearly works for him.
Akash Thakur from Jagriti is one role that had a lasting effect on him. The character pushed him in ways he had never been pushed before, asking for both mental and physical commitment and emotional depth. Reflecting on it, he says, “I think it has to be Akash Thakur from Jagriti. Every role leaves behind something, but I think this role was where I really had to step out of my comfort zone emotionally, mentally and physically. It made me more patient and more observant… it taught me balance and how to be immensely focused… and that has made me an even better person at work and in personal life.”
When asked whether he prioritises big projects or meaningful ones, Sagar doesn’t hesitate. “I think meaningful ones always. Big is great, but if it doesn't connect or challenge me, it doesn't stay. I want roles that make me grow and leave an impact on me, and also on the audience.”
Sagar Parekh is building his career in a calm and confident way, with a clear goal in mind and no pressure.
