Film and television actor Jagesh Mukati, who had acted in several shows such as ‘Amita Ka Amit’, Shree Ganesh and films like ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’ and ‘Mann’, among others, passed away on June 10 in Mumbai. Jagesh was also a popular name in Gujarati theatre. The actor had been admitted to a hospital just four days ago after developing breathing issues and succumbed due to health complications yesterday.
His colleague, film and TV actor Sachin Parikh, who had worked with him in a Gujarati show, was shocked to hear the tragic news, He said, “Jagesh was one of the most jovial and happy going persons I had met.
His onscreen and on-stage comedy timing was par excellence and even off screen, he was witty and used to make us laugh all the time. He was good in mimicking and used to love talking. His conversations were always peppered with light humour. Our last meeting was at the Mumbai Airport where we bumped into each other while travelling for work. Jagesh will sorely missed...too early an exit, my friend.”
Meanwhile, Cine And TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA) also expressed grief over the actor’s death and posted a condolence message. Jagesh Mukati was CINTAA’s member since December 2008. Jagesh Mukati’s death has been mourned by ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ actor Ambika Ranjankar, who worked with him before. In an Instagram post, she wrote, “Kind, supportive and terrific sense of humour... gone too soon...May your soul attain sadgati. Om Shanti. Jagesh, you’ll be missed dear friend.”
