Saanand Verma: I am focusing on my acting. Medium is irrelevant

Actor Saanand Verma, who became a household name as Anokhelal Saxena in '

Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!

', and has featured in films like 'Raid', 'Pataakha' and '

Chhichhore

', has completed a decade in the industry. He feels that his journey so far has been fruitful, and is looking forward to working in projects, which allow him to showcase his versatility. He says, “I had joined the industry in November, 2009. I feel fortunate to have worked with talented directors like Shoojit Sircar, Amit Ravindernath Sharma, Pradeep Sarkar, Shashank Bali, Vishal Bhardwaj, Raj Kumar Gupta, Siddharth Sengupta, Anurag Kashyap, Rajesh Krishnan and Nitesh Tiwari. I also learnt a great deal from my co-actors like Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Govinda, Sushant Singh Rajput, Boman Irani, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and above all, Amitabh Bachchan.”

Saanand has featured in around 100 commercials, half a dozen feature films and more than 20 TV shows. He says, “Last 10 years of my life have been fulfilling. After plenty of twists and turns, ups and downs, it's immensely gratifying to have been able to realise my dream of becoming an actor.”

Ask him about balancing two mediums, and he replies, “I am focusing on my acting. Medium is irrelevant. Any interesting character who is part of a good story can be worth playing irrespective of medium.”
