Ruslaan Mumtaz recreates Rajkummar Rao’s character from 'Bareilly Ki Barfi'

After having played a string of chocolate-boy roles on both silver and small screens, actor Ruslaan Mumtaz is all set to be a part of TV show 'Laal Ishq' in a never-seen-before avatar. The actor will play Nirmal, a Banarasi boy, and the character is apparently drawn from Rajkummar Rao’s Pritam Vidrohi from the hit film 'Bareilly Ki Barf'i.
He said, “I have never played a desi character like this before – it’s a first for me. My character Nirmal takes inspiration from Rajkummar’s character Pritam Vidrohi from 'Bareilly Ki Barfi'. I really hope that I do justice to the role. Just like Rajkummar, I also had to learn to drape saris for it and it was a fun experience. Although it looks simple, trust me it isn’t at all!”

Ruslaan will be seen romancing actress Rhea Sharma in an upcoming episode. Their unique love story will have an undertone of a supernatural element. When we asked Ruslaan about it, he said, “I am honestly very scared of spooky things in real life, so portraying fear on screen for me was relatively easy.”
