Rrahul Sudhir: I am away from TV because I have not bagged another opportunity yet
It has been nearly a year and a half since Rrahul Sudhir was last seen on television in Dabangii Mulgii Aayi Re Aayi, and the actor is candid about where he currently stands professionally. Addressing the assumption that he may have stepped away from television to explore other avenues, Rrahul clarifies, “People assume I have stepped away from television to pursue something else. But the truth is that I have not been seen on TV simply because I have not bagged another opportunity yet. I have no shame in admitting that.”
He adds that he is waiting for the right project to come his way. “I am happy with what I have done until now. Having said that, I am waiting for a good opportunity,” he says.
For Rrahul, periods of professional uncertainty have not altered the way he chooses to live or present himself. The actor, who has been part of television shows such as Ishq Mein Marjawan 2, Pinjara Khubsurti Ka and Tere Ishq Mein Ghayal, along with web series including Twisted and Spotlight, says, “I have nothing to prove to the world, so I do not indulge in fancy things. My love for perfumes, shoes and watches is still very much alive. I buy what I want and splurge when I feel like it, but somehow I was never short of money. I would love to live that way.”
He attributes that clarity to the industry, which has given him space and perspective over the years. He says, “The industry has accepted me for who I am. I honestly do not think I would fit anywhere else if not here. Patience and resilience are virtues you develop along the way,” he shares.
At this stage of his journey, Rrahul is driven less by external validation and more by moments of personal discovery through performance. “I look for a space where I surprise myself and can be happy about it for a few days. That is a rare space for any artist and it takes tremendous effort and courage, especially when the performance surprises you rather than you trying to surprise others,” he concludes.
