Actor turned politician Raj Babbar is making a comeback on TV after a long hiatus from the medium. Playing the role of a father in the serial Pukaar being aired these days, Babbar says that actors his age have little choice than to do the role of a father. I was Afraid of Getting Back to TV
Taking the decision of acting in a tele-serial was not easy for Babbar.
"It's been some time since I acted in a serial. I've acted in some popular shows like Main Dilli Hoon and Maharaja Ranjit Singh in the past, but frankly speaking, I was very sceptic when I was approached for this role. It's not as if I don't want to work on television. My apprehension was that the show will be stretched too much, like other shows. These days, TV shows go on endlessly . I wanted to work in a serial that has a complete story and one that wraps up fast. It's high time television starts changing in India because now people are no more interested in watching un ending serials. They are now exposed to foreign shows and want that same quality in Indian shows too," says Babbar, who was in Kanpur recently .

I am not complaining, for those are the roles that suit me best. But then, the role should be a strong one so that it can satisfy the actor in me."
