Rabb Se Hai Dua’s Tanish Mahendru on dreaming big, says ‘Greed is good’
Tanish Mahendru, who plays Sufiyan Siddique in Rabb Se Hai Dua, says one should always dream big and strive to achieve more. He says the hunger for success should never be fulfilled.
Talking about ambitions, he said, "Well, my name says it all. Tanish means ambitious. I firmly believe one should never get satisfied with wherever he is. Greed is good. One should have the zeal to never stop in life. One can only excel when he loves what he is doing, without loving what you do, one cannot think of growing.”
Looking back at his journey, he says that though it is just the beginning, he feels blessed to be a part of such a popular show and a big channel. He said, “I feel there’s much more I’ll come up with. I started on a very small platform, and today, featuring on India’s most famous TV channel is everything one can dream of. So, the journey has been quite inspiring and fulfilling.”
Tanish feels that he has missed a lot of opportunities in his life just because he wasn’t aware of them and added, “In our industry, you don't get the opportunity, you have to grab it. So becoming an opportunist and good human being is very important.”
But what would you do when you have multiple opportunities? “I would do what’s a bit challenging for me. I don't go with what’s comforting me. I love to take the opportunities that challenge my character, just as my character Sufiyan Siddique is gaining love all over the country,” he said.
Tanish also mentioned that the environment on the set hugely impacts an actor’s performance and said, “The environment is everything. If the environment is good, then the actor feels free to express his art. Our director, Yusuf Ansari, is a gem of a person. He is the one who extracted Sufiyan out of Tanish. I really wish to work with him in the future again.”
