Eisha Singh has been exceptionally lucky in matters of ‘ishq’ and ‘pyaar’, not just once, but multiple times! And no, we ain’t talking about her relationships here. Of the five shows she has been a part of so far, three have had words like ‘ishq’ and ‘pyaar’ in their titles. After her debut show, ‘Ishq Ka Rang Safed’, she was seen as the protagonist (Zara) in ‘Ishq Subhan Allah’ (‘ISA’).
And now, she will feature in an episode in the 11th season of ‘Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya’ (‘PTKK’).
Maybe, we should bestow the title of ‘The Queen of Romance on TV’ on her, what say? “I feel that the two words -- pyaar and ishq -- are lucky for me, especially ishq (laughs!). I liked the title, ‘Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya’ when they offered me the show,” Eisha says.
Though she liked the title, she did take her time before giving her nod to the show. Reason: After being part of two long-running dramas, she was hesitant to feature in just an episode of ‘PTKK’. She shares, “Honestly, I wasn’t very sure, but I am on good terms with the channel and they were keen on having me on board. My previous show, ‘ISA’ had wrapped up on September 24 and they wanted to start shooting for ‘PTKK’ the very next day in Jaipur. But now, I am glad that I accepted the offer. I liked the story and it allowed me to come out of Zara (her character in ‘ISA’). I was so emotional when ‘ISA’ wrapped up that I cried for a whole day, working on a new character diverted my mind.”
The actress plays a Punjabi kudi in ‘PTKK’. Eisha says, “Preet (her character) is fun-loving, emotional and ambitious about growing her father’s restaurant business. She realises that she is in love with another guy on the day of her engagement, and calls it off.”
What would she have done if she were in a similar situation in real life? “If you find love outside marriage, it means that you aren’t in love with your spouse. Fortunately, Preet was just engaged when she realises that she is in love with someone else. So, she decides to follow her heart. Listen to your heart closely, and it will give you the right answer. I do that all the time. Kisi bhi relationship mein naa khush rehne se behtar hai ki aap woh karo jahaan khushi mil rahi hai. You should be with the one you love,” the actress replies.
Broach the topic of her relationship status and she says, “The only things I am in love with are my work, family and friends. Love can’t be forced, it happens organically.”
