Priyansh Jora to make his Bollywood debut with 'Khandaani Shafakhana'

Television actor Priyansh Jora, who has been part of shows like '

Tu Mera Hero

' and '24', is all set to make his

Bollywood

debut. He will play a pivotal role in the Sonakshi Sinha and Badshah-starrer, Khandaani Shafakhana.

Priyansh is happy that his big-screen debut is with a film that talks about an issue — sex being a taboo subject in our society. He says, “My work on

TV

helped me land this role. Of course, I went through auditions, but what matters is that I bagged a film, which is meaningful and gives me scope to perform.”

About working with Sonakshi, he says, “She is a senior actress, but she was very chilled-out on the set. That helped me relax, too, and work better.” In the film, Priyansh plays a lemon-soda juice stall owner, who lends support to Baby Bedi (Sonakshi), who inherits her uncle’s sex clinic. Ask him about the message of the film, and he replies, “I feel that the subject is extremely relevant. In India, most men refrain from talking about sexual problems because of the male ego. On the other hand, most women are too shy to open up, as they have been told from childhood that it is a taboo subject. It is important that we have normal conversations about sex; our children shouldn’t grow up thinking that it’s something that shouldn’t be spoken or discussed about. During my growing-up years, when we would crack jokes on sex, the grown-up women in our families would tag us ‘non-veg guys’. The point is, when somebody cracks jokes on sex or discusses it, nobody understands that the more open one is about it, the easier it is to solve problems around it.”
