Priom Gujjar to play lord Vishnu in Karmadhikari Shanidev, says ‘Many actors have left a benchmark with the role and setting a new record will be quite challenging’

Actor Priom Gujjar, who was last seen in TV show Mithai which went off air last year, meanwhile he appeared in popular web series, is now happy to return on the household screen with upcoming mythological show ‘Karmadhikari Shanidev’.

He will be seen essaying the role of Lord Vishnu, Priom said, "I'm happy to play the role of supreme power, lord Vishnu. He is a very important part of every mythological story. When I was offered the role, I was excited about it and wanted to do it wholeheartedly. As an actor, the experience will be for sure amazing and such roles educate you very well. It will also help me to connect with an audience of all age groups."

Talking about the challenges that come across with such a powerful role he continued, "I have played mythological roles before on TV and hence I'm comfortable in acting with heavy outfits and jewelleries. Also, I can speak shudh Hindi. So for me the most challenging part is the responsibility to connect with the audience and influence them to accept me as Vishnu. Many actors have left a benchmark with the role and setting a new record will be quite challenging. But without taking much stress I will give my best and enjoy my journey as Vishnu in the show. As an actor I always wanted to play such a role with so many layers."

Talking about his journey, the actor, who hails from a village in Uttar Pradesh, says, “It’s been a long and arduous journey filled with challenges and rejections. I belong to a family of farmers and no one had even in their wildest dreams thought of becoming an actor. So, my parents weren’t too supportive of my decision to get into acting. They wanted me to do a government job, as it ensures financial security and stability. But I had made up my mind and I did an acting course with a theatre group in Delhi. I moved to Mumbai in 2017. Today, they are proud of me.”


Priom has earlier been a part of TV shows like Kaleerein, Ishqbaaaz, Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran, among others.
