Preetika Rao: I was the one who convinced Amrita to tell media about her marriage

Beautiful actress Preetika Rao, who is seen as Mohini in Love Ka Hai Intezaar, is not at all disappointed with her show going offair instead she considers the journey to be short and sweet. In an exclusive conversation with the TimesOfIndia.com the actress spoke about her shows, TV industry and her equation with sister Amrita.
"No I am not disappointed. I feel we could have taken the show for two or three months more. But then the show is not going off air, it is slot that has been called-off. There are absolutely no regrets. I consider the journey as short and sweet. It is for me like doing a film. All my films in south have had short schedules like Love Ka Hai Intezaar," said the actress.
Talking about the show she likes watching on television, Preetika said, "I am a huge fan of singing and dance reality shows. I like to watch shows where kids are dancing or singing. As far as watching TV is concerned I only watched one show because it was directed by Maan as he was the director of my debut show Beintehaa as well. The show I watched was Na Bole Tum Na Main Ne Kuch Kaha. I really liked that show. I was very aloof from TV. I didn't know Mohit Sehgal, Drashti Dhami and Sanaya Irani were TV stars. I had no idea the only memory I have of a TV show making noise was Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi that was long back when I was a kid. The only three shows I had heard off were Bade Acche Lagte Hain, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and Kyunki... I was a poor audience to TV. I had no clue of what was happening. I had never thought that one day I will join the television industry. But it just happened."

Preetika, who made her debut with Beintehaan on TV, reveals why she opted to TV instead of joining Bollywood. She said, "When I was offered Bollywood movies, I didn't take it up. I wasn't too sure about doing a Bollywood film at that time. I thought let me try my hand at doing some films in South. It was not that I used regional medium at a stepping stone for Bollywood. Since obviously Bollywood is a big market as compared to South Industry. I felt there was no harm in testing waters also I had seen very movies of Rajiv Menon and I wanted to work with him. So after I jumped on from South films to TV I feel you become a TV personality. And post that I don't know if Bollywood people are open working with a face which according to them is over exposed which I don't think matters now. I feel all the mediums have become the same now because of Digitization."
When asked if she took any tips from sister Amrita before joining the television industry, Preetika stated, "No. There was nothing that I could learn from Amrita about the TV medium as it was completely new for her too. In fact, when she signed for Meri Awaaz He Pehchaan Hai my experience on TV helped her. She worked like a princess on the show. She had all the perks that a Bollywood actor could get on the set. Amrita didn't went through any of the things that we TV actors face while working on shows including the working hours. She worked for just 8 hours which generally don't happen with us."
There have been rumours about Amrita and Preetika not sharing very cordial relations. We buzzed the actress about the same and this is what she had to say, "Amrita is a very private person. She doesn't like talking about her relationships. Even when she was getting married she didn't wish to publicise her wedding. It was me who convinced her that she should atleast have an article about her wedding to let people know that she is married. She doesn't know post any picture with her husband or family members on social media, because she doesn't like it. So if this is giving people a perception that things are not good between then I can't help it. She is that kind of person."
