The TV show host is preparing for his first Bollywood outing in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s next, he tells LTFrom Small To BigAfter a long wait – and the wait has been quite a long one – I finally have a movie to my credit,” says model-turned-actor Pravesh Rana. Rana was in the city recently to promote his TV show. He adds, “I will be playing the lead in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s next venture which is based on “Hamlet”.
I am quite excited about my debut.” Ask him what took him so long to do a movie and he says, “I was in no mood to do anything and everything that was coming my way. I did not want to be a ‘despo’ and had rejected eight to nine movie offers before this. I wanted my debut to be a memorable one not only for me, but for my fans as well. And this character has all the possible shades of black and white. I am sure the audience is going to love it,” he says excitedly.
Reality Ka TadkaAnd now that he’s officially entered Bollywood, will Pravesh bid goodbye to the small screen? “No way! I will continue doing television as much as I can. An actor today needs to make his presence felt on both, the chhota and the bada parda and I am no exception,” he shares.Speaking more in favour of his favourite medium, Pravesh says he’s happy hosting reality shows on TV. “I will never ever do a television soap. A daily show is not my cup of tea and I just can’t stand them. At max, I can participate in a reality show. Playing a beta or a damaad on TV? Nah!” he says vehemently. He may not want to be part of a serial, but Pravesh certainly wants to be a stand up comedian. “I actually have a great sense of humour and I have written several stand up acts. Unfortunately, I can’t perform them on TV right now since the humour is quite international and cannot be shown on Indian television. I am using them in various private shows that I am hosting and I am getting a great response for it. I now plan to write more of such acts,” he says. The hunt is on!Pravesh is now kind of a “relationship expert” after hosting shows like “Emotional Atyachaar” and “Love Lock-up”. So, we wonder what keeps his relationship status still single. “I am surrounded with girls on my show, so it is not as if I don’t have opportunities to have a relationship,” jokes Pravesh adding, “But seriously, I don’t believe in love marriages. I want my marriage to be an arranged one. So, I have left the job of finding a suitable life partner for me on Sr Rana, my dad. The hunt is on, let’s see ki mera number kab ayega!”
