Prashant Tamang’s Funeral: Wife Martha Aley and daughter get emotional as they bid goodbye
Indian Idol winner Prashant Tamang passed away yesterday (January 11) due to heart attack in Delhi. His funeral took place today at Chowrasta in Darjeeling and heartbreaking visuals of his wife Martha Aley and young daughter are doing the rounds on social media. Prashant's wife broke down as she stood by Tamang’s mortal remains as she bid a final goodbye to her husband and the beloved singer and actor.
The singer's sudden demise has left the music and entertainment industry in a state of shock. Since the news of his passing surfaced, fans and music lovers have been grieving his loss. His sudden death has left the entire Darjeeling heartbroken, where he was deeply loved and celebrated.
Earlier in the day, Tamang’s mortal remains were brought to Bagdogra Airport. His family members, friends, and well-wishers all gathered to see him for the last time. After that, his body was taken to Darjeeling for the last rites, with many people standing along the road to pay their respects to the Indian Idol winner.
Emotional moments were seen at the iconic Chowrasta in Darjeeling as Prashant's wife Martha and their daughter paid their final respects. They were seen trying to control their tears. Supporters and locals stood quietly with folded hands at his funeral. They showed how deeply Tamang had touched the people of the region.
In an interview with ANI, Martha Aley on Sunday, stated that Prashant's death was “natural” and that he passed away in his sleep. In an interview with ANI, Martha Aley thanked fans and well-wishers from around the world for the overwhelming love, support, and condolences they shared after Tamang’s passing.
She said, "Thank you to everyone. I've been receiving calls from all over the world. People that I know, people that I don't know, I've been getting flowers. People are standing outside my house, people have come to the hospital to see him for the last time."
Apart from his amazing singing talent, in the last few years, Prashant worked in a few Hindi projects and showed his acting. He worked in Paatal Lok Season 2, and was reportedly also a part of Salman Khan’s upcoming film Battle of Galwan.
