Gulki Joshi

who is seen playing a tough

cop

on the show

Maddam Sir

opens up about how playing a cop on screen has changed her in many ways. The show, which revolves around four female police officers, has completed one year. An elated Gulki says “Playing the character of SHO

Haseena Malik

for over a year now has changed my life. Real-life cops have to be very calm, patient, and alert when dealing with any kind of emergencies and difficult cases. I believe I have become a calmer person. My character always maintains her calm in every situation and that quality has rubbed on me.”

She further adds, “Apart from being calm always, playing a cop has also taught me to be more disciplined and challenge me to stay fit and maintain my

fitness

levels. As a cop, I can’t look lazy and unfit onscreen. So the role has also allowed me to become a fitter person than before.”

Talking about her bond with co-stars Bhavika Sharma and Yuktii Kapoor, who also play cops in the show along with her, she says, “It is always great to work with like-minded people,” says Gulki. “I believe that the

pandemic

has made us all realise the value of people and relationships close to us. When I was tested positive for

COVID-19

, they supported me throughout. I wasn't allowed to shoot and so meeting them daily wasn’t possible. But we stayed connected through social media. The emotional support and the morale boost that they gave me during the low phase has certainly made our bond stronger.”
