During the COVID-19
pandemic
people have been taking to all kinds of interesting things – from
cooking
to picking up new languages, painting and more. And '
Excuse Me Madam
’ actress
Nyra Banerjee has also got something that has been taking up her time – she’s been learning the
ukulele
during this time away from work. It's been a long while and the multi-lingual
actress
seems to have picked up the ropes quite well.
Talking about this, she says, “The ukulele is popularly known as a Hawaiian Guitar. During my
travels
to quite a few countries, I would always find someone playing the ukulele somewhere. It was so lovely to hear and it would always fascinate me. I would just sit rooted listening for as long as they played it. Back here I heard a few people playing
Bollywood
songs on the ukulele and it felt that they have added so much to the
song
. I got hooked to the instrument and I bought one long back, owing to my schedule I was not able to learn it. Now that we have all the time in the world, I started learning the ukulele and I’m grateful to God that I did’. Its soulful, soothing and is now an extension of me."
