Now that my show's ended, will focus on my fitness regimen: Himanshu Soni

Last Friday saw the last episode of the

TV show Agar Tum Na Hote

on air. While the show seemed to have won the viewers’ hearts during its brief stint, everybody including the cast was predictably in for a huge shock when they got to know about the show wrapping up barely months after its launch. Lead

actor Himanshu Soni

who played the role of a mentally unstable character in the show, Abhimanyu Pandey shares, “Unfortunately our show has come to an end as it was destined to end this way. And I am not at all sad as it concluded on a positive note with a feel-good climax.”

Himanshu says he had a truly enriching experience as an actor. “The show gave me an opportunity to play a strong character with various shades. Honestly, I feel Abhimanyu’s character is a landmark role in my career. We don’t get to play such characters too often and I feel this character was a wonderful opportunity for me to try showcase my acting talent. I have always loved intense and challenging sequences; it gives me an adrenaline rush. This was a challenging role that allowed me to experiment and evolve as an actor. It’s not an easy task to play a person who is mentally not sound. Before the show went for a seven year leap, I got to play seven different characters as Abimanyu suffered from multiple personality disorder and for each sequence; I worked very hard on my craft and body language. Despite my lower back injury I did not miss shooting even once and continued working.”

The show Agar tum Na Hote was love story of a young nurse and a patient who suffered from multiple personality disorder. The show had started in November last year, and was doing well in its initial weeks. However, the ratings had dipped a bit and it was only recently that the cast were informed that the show would be going off air. "We shot our last episode on Friday and everybody became emotional. But I am happy that I could work with such a dedicated team of professionals, will miss them," says Himanshu. Speaking about his future plans Himanshu adds, “I am going to work on my body for the next 10-15 days. I will hit the gym more regularly and get back in shape, due to my hectic shoot schedule I hadn't been able to dedicate much time to my fitness regimen, now that will have to a priority. In the meanwhile, if something good is offered to me, I am all game for it.”
