For years we all have celebrated Diwali with brightly lit-up homes, streets packed with people doing their share of shopping for homes, festive wardrobe and food to those lavish Diwali parties. But this year, festive celebrations have undergone lots of changes due to COVID-19 pandemic. As many states have urged citizens to avoid crackers and celebrate a noiseless Diwali, we ask

Choti Sarrdaarni

actress

Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia

on how she plans to usher in the festive season amid the ongoing pandemic.

Nimrit who essays the role of Mehar in the show says, “The pandemic has taught us many life lessons, and we all must remember it for the coming years. However, I believe that the festival of lights will also help us to celebrate the resilience we all have shown in the last eight months. Many frontline warriors among us gave a good fight to the virus, and we must celebrate their hard work, dedication and perseverance."

She adds, "But we also have to ensure that this year, we opt for low-key, intimate, crackers-free and safe celebrations. One should not forget that the festival should be enjoyed and celebrated with full responsibility, especially due to the current situation wherein each day the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic is throwing new challenges at us. It is my humble request to all my fans and viewers to maintain social distance and have a

cracker-free

Diwali this year.”
