Puneites are eagerly waiting for their favourite German Bakery, that was destroyed in the recent bomb blast, to start again. One person in Mumbai who is looking forward to it, as well, is Nikkhil Arya. Recently at an event we heard him talk animatedly about the bakery with a friend. Later when we spoke to him, we got to know the connect. Born and raised in Pune, Nikkhil has some beautiful memories of the bakery.
“Well, it was German Bakery, where at the age of 17, I got my first pay cheque for deejaying and hosting a new year event at a club,” he says. After the blast, Nikkhil visited the site during his trip to Pune. “It was so shocking to see that along with the bakery, the blast had damaged my favourite music store and my dentist’s clinic which were nearby. The cowards this time hit right in the heart of love — the Osho ashram.”
Now with the arrests of the accused and talks of the bakery opening again, Nikkhil should hopefully get to smell his favourite coffee soon.
