Shiny Doshi

and Rajniesh Duggall were in Meerut recently and what better time to be in the city than during the Nauchandi Mela. The actors, who were there to promote their upcoming show 'Shrimad Bhagavat Mahapuran', not only enjoyed the rides at the mela, but also made sure to interact with the Meerutwallahs. “Meerut has a great vibe. The city is beautiful. I didn’t get much time to explore it all, but I went to the Ghantaghar. It’s an iconic spot, so I had to! The mela was fun. We met a lot of people and clicked quite a few pictures with them. It was my first visit to the city and I loved being here,” says Shiny.
Rajniesh, who is well-acquainted with the city, also visited his uncle during the trip and like all Meerutwallahs, he loves the Nauchandi Mela. “As a kid, I used to love the rides and games at the mela. We used to buy a lot of stuff from here. This time, I could only buy a few juttis from a stall. I also visited my uncle in Kalindi Colony and tried some Meerut

I love the food here.” he says.

Apart from the region’s oldest fair, Meerut ka khana is something that both actors loved. After trying a few specials, Shiny says, “I loved Meerut’s

.
It was honestly the best I’ve had until now. We also tried the shikanji. It helped us beat the heat.”

Rajniesh adds, “I think tiranga gola is the best to beat the heat.” Talking about their show, Shrimad Bhagavat Mahapuran, Rajniesh says, “I play Krishna, who is the sutradhaar, and answers all questions that Radha has about life. It’s a great responsibility to play such a character and I have tried my best to perform in a set daayra. I hope people like it.”For Shiny, who plays Radha, it was a little difficult to shoot with the elaborate costumes and jewellery. “Yeh story Radha-Krishna ki zubaani kahi jayegi. I am both excited and nervous as it’s my first mythological show. The overall experience was good, and I enjoyed playing Radha. It was a little difficult as I had to shoot wearing heavy costumes and jewellery, but the feedback on the promos has been positive,” she signed off smiling.
The actors were in the city to inaugurate a solar theatre at the Nauchandi Mela.
