Actress
Jasmin Bhasin is a pet lover and on National Pet Day, the actress talks about the camaraderie she shares with her pets at home.
Jasmin says, "I had two pets during my childhood Silky and Naughty. I have many memories of them. But from the time I was a kid, I was very close to dogs and cats and feel happy around them.
She further adds, "Later when I started living in Mumbai, in 2015, I got my dog Mia followed by Rambo in 2018 and also got a cat Kylie this year.
I have always and I can't think of life without pets. Luckily, all my pets are friendly with each other. They give unconditional love and I feel every home should have a pet. Every family can adopt a pet. They can't speak like humans but they express themselves. There should be a pet-friendly movement and cruelty towards animals needs to stop. Animals have the right to live on planet Earth just like anyone else".
On being asked about National Pet Day, she says, "Every day is a pet day for me. All three ask for attention from me all the time, but my dog Rambo is more possessive and demanding. I take them to pet cafes and even for long drives. They lift my mood too. Pets have taught me unconditional love and patience."
Recently a law was passed that people can feed stray dogs and cats and they shouldn't be stopped. Talking about it, she says, "It's a good move and I am happy the law is changing. Live and let live should be the motto."
