The cast of Shashi and Sumeet Mittal’s next, titled Dhruv Tara, seems to be growing stronger with every passing day. After Riya Sharma and Ishaan Dhawan were finalised to play the lead couple, the makers have now roped in Narayani Shastri and Yash Tonk have been roped in to play the other couple in the show.
Informed a source associated with the show, “Dhruv Tara is set in a bygone era. Narayani and Yash will play queen and king in the show. They have given the look test and the shoot is expected to commence from the 17th of this month.”
While Narayani asked us to call later, Yash confirmed the news of him being a part of the show.
Narayani was last seen in Aapki Nazron Ne Samjha, which ended in April this year and Yash’s last fiction outing was Swaran Ghar. Swaran Ghar, which featured Sangita Ghosh and Ajay Singh Chaudhary as the lead couple, was Yash’s shortest stint ever on TV.
In a previous interview, while talking to us about the show wrapping up a few weeks after he joined it, he said, “That’s how television works. It’s quite sad. I didn’t know it might go off air. Around a week after I started shooting for the show, we were told that it was shutting down. It’s disappointing for any actor because so many people bank on a show. I have been a part of the industry to understand that it is not unusual. Also, as an actor, I can’t do anything about it. It happens to great shows also. One has to be prepared for everything. All I can do is give my best till the last day of the shoot. I made the character (Baljit Singh Bedi aka Balli) spicy and it’s good to experiment.”
