My relative tried to molest me: Shraddha Sharma

It’s sad that women often take long to talk about being victims of child abuse. While the nation recently sympathised with a few victims on Aamir Khan’s Satyamev Jayte, there are others who have suffered through this, one of them being actress Shraddha Sharma.
She recounts, “One of my relatives tried to molest me when I was younger. This happened repeatedly. I was scared to disclose this fearing I would be blamed for it.I was scared of making friends and trusting people. I befriended God and took counselling. I used to think that I am the only unfortunate one but with Aamir’s show, I realised that there are others too. I think rather than hiding such disturbing incidents, we should address it, nip it in the bud and make kids aware of it.”
