One of the many challenges that an actor working in the TV industry faces often, is the long erratic working schedule which sometimes leaves them very little time for family. However, the lockdown came as a much-needed break for many, especially actors who were looking to spend some quality time with their families. Actor Tarun Khanna who is currently playing

Lord Shiva

in

RadhaKrishn

says that the lockdown helped him to spend a great time with his family, especially his 7-year-old son, Adamya. “The lockdown gave me enough time to catch up with my family and my son. Although my son has seen me in various characters, from Lord Shiva to Inspector

Shamsher Singh Devgan

(

Police Factory

) to

Chanakya

(

Chandragupta Maurya

), for him, his superheroes will be the likes of

Thor

, Ironman, and Hulk (laughs).”

So which of his varied characters remains Adamya’s favourite? “When I was playing Chanakya during Chandragupta Maurya, he sketched me and Chandragupta Maurya as his small token of appreciation for me. I was moved beyond words as my son was just around four then. That picture has been with me ever since. Although in my absence he dresses like me and mimics me by mouthing my dialogues, he’s too shy to do that in front of me.”

With a career spanning over two decades in the entertainment industry, he says that he’s learned some very important lessons that have helped him stay grounded. “The one thing I have learned is that an actor must be humble no matter how many hits or flops they give, as it helps you stay grounded in every situation. Always treat yourself as a newcomer as that will help you get recognised in the right manner as well as for your positive attitude. Lastly, always find your motivation in yourself and don’t be overambitious.”
