Swaran Ghar fame actress Aastha Sharma, who bagged a leading role in the show Neerja Ek Nayi Pehchan, recently visited Lucknow. The young actress, talking about her acting journey, said, “I was in college when I got the opportunity to act in the show Swaran Ghar in which I was playing young Swaran. Honestly, I was confused about my career because I switched from being a Humanities scholar to a Bachelor's in Business Administration in college and then acting happened to me. So there were a lot of changes that happened till I got into acting. And although I was new to the field and didn’t know about camera angles, I was pretty confident on set. I learned everything on the job and fell in love with the whole process of acting and decided to pursue it as a career," she said, adding, "I did my first show when I was in college. After that, I decided I didn't want to study further, and only wanted to focus on acting. So I convinced my parents and they have been very supportive. Coming to Mumbai was quite challenging but because of my father being with me it was still better.”
Telling us how she got her first serial, Aastha recalled, “The casting director of Swaran Ghar saw my reel on Instagram, and she thought my face is very much suited for playing the role and contacted me to send her a monologue. She loved it so much that she called me to join the shoot the next day. So, social media has helped a me lot, though I don’t have many followers on it. Yet it did help me to land my first role in the television industry.”
Aastha might be acting on TV today but the the actress never liked watching the medium she revealed. "I didn't watch television that much. However, my mother was too much into watching TV serials. It’s not that I never liked watching Indian shows but I always preferred and enjoyed doing something else while my family watched television.”
